3D LiDAR scanning
Highly accurate 3D maps of structures, tunnels and land deposits, for design, maintenance and upgrade work.
How LiDAR scanning works
3D LiDAR scanning lets you map real-life objects with high accuracy. The data can later be used by engineers, architects and other professionals.
Like radar, LiDAR measures the time it takes for light to travel from the equipment to the object and back again. Data exported from the equipment in the BIM file format can then be used for design and measurements.

Questions about LiDAR scanning
Do LiDAR scans look like the real thing?
No. LiDAR scanning records millions of individual reflected beams of light and builds them into a point cloud. The points can be coloured to help you view them, but the result will not look like a photo.
What are the scans used for?
Professionals use them to measure large objects accurately for design, maintenance and quality checking.
What file format do I receive?
Data is delivered in the BIM file format, which engineers and architects commonly use.
